Waiting for summer

I have had so much school work and havent posted anything in forever! I recently took a trip to miami which was fun. Also, I finally ombred my hair. I wanted to do it for a long time but my hairstylist didnt end up doing it right. Thankfully, I tried someone new and she did it exacly how i wanted it. I am also looking forward to experiment with the exciting new trends for the spring. I don't even know where to start but i am currently loving the colorblock and of course the 70's trend. I wil be posting more shortly. Untill then heres a pic from florida, i am so missing the warm weather.

ORANGE

Orange is one of the many hot color trends for spring 2011. The trend was also touched upon on the last years spring runways leading to the classic red lip turning  into a risky neon orange! I just love the richness of the color. Here are some of my favorites from the runways!

The Chosen One--Emmanuelle Alt

The anticipation ended today. Finally, French Vogue announced who will take Carrine Roitfelds place as editor-in-chief. The glamorous Emmanuelle Alt is the one who will take her place. She had been the fashion director of the magazine and I can't wait to see where she will lead the magazine.

Carine Roitfeld

The style queen Carine Roitfeld has announced that she is leaving her position as editor-in-chief of French Vogue. When I found this out I was completely surprised. There are so many rumors rambling on about why she has left and what she will be doing next. After reading various articles I will not believe anything until Carine or French Vogue announces the real deal. Though I'm not able to read French, I will miss her unique creativity she put into the magazine that I drooled over. Cant wait to hear who will take her place and follow in her shoes!

BOHO Chic

This is the outfit I wore for New Years. Definitely not a common outfit people would choose to wear or even what I had planned but when I came across this beautiful silk top I fell in love. I was in the city shopping the amazing "after the holidays" sales I also found these wedges from Topshop and the headband from Zara. (I will add another post with these items, this was the best picture of the outfit taken that night!) I am also wearing black jeans from LF and a Chanel bag)

2011

I thought I would share a couple of pictures of the makeup I have been doing. In the first picture I was going to a holiday party (I also included pictures of my hair that day) and the second I was going out for the night. I have learned so much from makeup tutorials on youtube and I'm thinking of starting my own channel. If anyone would like a video on how i achieved these looks please comment.

Calling All Carrie Bradshaws...

I've been sick which is always a great time to watch a "good feeling" movie a.k.a. Sex and the City. I watched the second movie for about the 1910 time but I am left with an inspiration. The amount of amazing outfits, shoes, accessories makes me feel better in a minute! Although I do love Carrie in her tutus and sparkle, I absolutely adore the gypsy feel of all the outfits in Abu Dhabi. The head wraps and beautiful caftans that all the girls wore were incredible.

When looking through my old pictures I came across these I took ages ago.
I immediately thought, SO CARRIE.

Back for Good

Yes, I am back for good. My attempt at keeping up with my blog had failed but I promise that will soon change. The amount of school work I have had is what stopped me from posting. I really want to put effort into the blog and will try my best to make time to do so. I have recently made a large purchase at Topshop, definitely one of my favorite stores! It is mind boggling to me that literally every time i walk into that store I always fall in live with majority of what I try on and always have a hard time narrowing the items down at the register and let me tell you this rarely happens to me (due to my extreme pickiness.) I don't know if I have ever written in my "few" post I have that I have been practicing my makeup skills since the beginning of this year. I have always loved experimenting with makeup for the most part because of my love for art which, it is truly an art. I've learned a lot from various makeup artist on youtube actually. My favorite being Pixiwoo (you should all defiantly check them out!) A couple of the following pictures of me in my vampy costume on Halloween! The others are just some pics of me practicing my makeup skills (so sorry for the horrible quality.)

Hot Topic lace gloves and necklace

My VAMPY makeup look

This look was inspired by the fall 2010 runway looks from
designers like Prada ( as seen below) and Louis Vuitton.
This glamorous and lady like style was defiantly inspired
by the show Mad Men and I think it is so elegantly chic.

The Night of Fashion

Here are the Fashions Night Out pictures! Anna Wintour looked amazing in Chanel tweed and FNO tee. Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham both looked fabulous! The extremely inspiring Brian Atwood also made an appearance at Bergdorfs. I was up close with many other inspiring individuals but sadly did not get any more good pics!

Spotted: Anna Wintour in amazing Chanel tweed worn with FNO tee!!
Pretty sure I can spot that hair anywhere!

Sarah Jessica Parker looked gorgeous! Kind of inspired to go get myself an embellished blazer.

FNO

Fashions Night Out was insane!!! Thank god I had a way to get in without waiting on lines but thats just another story! All I can say is I got into Bergdorfs and it was major (as Rachel Zoe would say.) I brushed shoulders with Anna Wintour who was wearing a Fashions Night Out tee with a Chanel tweed coat! We later saw Sarah Jessica Parker who looked beautiful in a sequin jacket and blue dress! Followed by Brian Atwood, Tinsley Mortimer, Victoria Beckem AND MORE!!! It was an exciting night of Fashion and it was easy to feel the creative vibe!! I can not wait for next years! The pictures will be up very soon.

Summer Ending

Summer is coming to an end and while I am so depressed about school starting I think I am definitely ready to trade in my shorts and tanks for jeans and chunky knits! I cant wait to throw this sweater over every outfit for that hint of grunge rock.

Something Else

In Spain my favorite shop (still trying to remember the name) carried designers from all over the world which was clearly a huge plus for me! I love seeing how people are dressing from all around the world and being introduced to upcoming designers that are not already stocked up in every store possible. The brand that I was drawn to the most was the Australian label Something Else by Natalie Wood. The Winter 2010 line contains some of my favorite styles (grungy, bohemian, and minimalism) in one amazing cohesive collection.
